Festivities to kickoff homecoming

Leave your coats at home, because “the heat is onâ€Â during the homecoming festivities leading up to the Fresno State football game against San Jose State on Oct. 20. This year’s theme, “Bulldog Blaze: The Heat Is On,â€Â represents the idea of “trying to fire things upâ€Â, said Mike Simonson, co-coordinator of spirit and homecoming activities for University Student Union Productions.

WAC basketball preseason polls

The Western Athletic Conference (WAC) preseason basketball polls were released Wednesday at the annual WAC Basketball Media Day in Salt Lake City. The Fresno State men̢۪s team was picked to finish fourth in both the coaches̢۪ and media polls. The women̢۪s team was picked fourth in the coaches̢۪ poll and fifth in the media poll.

Something was in the air Saturday at Mackay Stadium. That something was the Fresno State passing game. In a 49-41 win over Nevada, the Bulldogs put the ball in the air for 168 yards and quarterback Tom Brandstater completed 10 of 16 passes.
