Former Bulldogs Avery Watkins of women’s basketball and David Douglas Jr. of men’s basketball have found new homes.
Watkins has committed to the University of Pittsburgh after two years at Fresno State. Douglas Jr. is headed to Northern Illinois University after his two-year tenure with Fresno State.
Watkins transferred to Fresno State in 2024 after spending her freshman campaign with the University of Hawaii. She averaged 3.9 points per game during her two seasons with the Bulldogs, including a season-high 25 points against Colorado State back on Jan. 3
Douglas Jr. played 24 games in his two seasons at Fresno State after transferring from the University of Wisconsin, Green Bay. He averaged 6.8 points per game during his time with the Bulldogs, including a season-high 21 points against the Air Force Academy on Jan. 31. Douglas Jr. was also key in the Bulldogs’ comeback win over the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Rebels on Feb. 3.
