When the Cal-Nevada Championships came to a close Saturday afternoon the Fresno State Women’s track and field team had taken third and the men had placed fourth.

The women’s team scored a 112, while the men scored 90 points.

The women had two first place finishes from the afternoon including Mallory Webb on the javelin. Webb, who has already qualified for the NCAA Regionals, is the only current All-American on the Fresno State roster. Webb threw 50.17 meters.

Katie Richardson also took first with her 52.10-meter discus throw, which was a personal best. La’Sha Hill tossed a career high of 49.29 meters to be the runner-up. Hill also placed second in the shot put with a 15.04-meter throw.

Ryan Moore copped the only men’s first place finish when he won the 400-meter hurdles with a 51.85, his season best.

Brian Vasquez and Jesse Smith each took third, in the hammer throw and 100-meters, respectively.

The Fresno State women placed behind UCLA and Cal-State Northridge. The men followed UCLA, Northridge and Cal State Fullerton. Fresno State will head to Westwood next weekend to compete in the Rafer Johnson/JJK Invitational.
