Fresno State, along with the rest of the newly formed Pac-12 conference, has released its 2026 football schedule.
The Bulldogs will start their 2026 campaign Sept. 5 on the road against the University of Southern California Trojans. Fresno State’s home opener will be the following week as the Bulldogs take on the Football Championship Subdivision program Sacramento State.
The Bulldogs will play former Mountain West Rival San Jose State in another chapter of the Battle for the Valley trophy on Sept. 19. The two schools will be in different conferences, but will continue the rivalry when scheduling allows.
They will close out non-conference play against Rice University the following week. Pac-12 Conference play for the Bulldogs starts on Oct. 3 at Washington State University.
Critical rivalries have come with the Bulldogs into the Pac-12. Fresno State hosts Boise State University on Oct. 10 in the Battle of the Milk Can. The following week, the Bulldogs travel to San Diego State University for the Battle for the Old Oil Can.
The Bulldogs’ bye week comes during Week 8 of the regular season.
The Pac-12 will be the first conference to implement a “flex game,” which aims to help potential College Football Playoff-bound (CFP) teams build their resumes. The flex game will take place in Week 13 and will be a home-and-home where the away team will host the same matchup in the following year.
While the conference released tentative matchups for this week, they are subject to change based on CFP rankings that week.
The Bulldogs are currently scheduled to host San Diego State University in Week 13.
The Pac-12 Championship game is scheduled for Dec. 4 at the home venue of the higher-ranked team within the conference.
Fresno State is coming off a 9-4 season under first-year Head Coach Matt Entz. The Bulldogs defeated the University of Miami (OH), 18-3, in the Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl.
