National Signing Day marks one of the biggest moments that occur in college football. National Signing Day is a recruiting cycle that designates the day high-school athletes make their official commitments by signing National Letters of Intent.
Each year, head coaches like Matt Entz and staff rally together to spend months scouting and evaluating recruits across California and beyond.
For fans, signing day is a glimpse into the program’s direction and what is in store for the team’s future. It offers insight into what positions the staff is prioritizing, what kind of athletes they’re targeting and, most importantly, how the Bulldogs aim to be competitive in the Pac-12.
Whether the Bulldogs are recruiting a highly-touted prospect or a sleeper recruit, national signing day gives Fresno State a chance to build momentum and energize the fanbase into the next era of Bulldog football.
Fresno State didn’t just restock on National Signing Day — the Bulldogs reloaded.
With additions across every position group, Entz strategically added both size and speed, along with a few instant contributors who could shape the next era of Bulldog football.
The class is highlighted by a mix of Central Valley standouts and some out-of-state playmakers, but a handful of new Bulldogs instantly grabbed headlines.

Deagan Rose – QB, 6’2, Cannon Arm, Leader in the Making
The marquee name of Fresno State’s class is incoming quarterback Deagan Rose. A towering 6-foot-2 passer whose blend of size, athleticism and touch has fans drawing comparisons to some recent Bulldog greats.
Rose, a Clovis native, is rated the nation’s No. 23 quarterback, which means he is arriving with a reputation for big-play accuracy.
He threw for big numbers in high school, and more importantly, he showed he could command an offense. In 2024, Rose threw for 2,729 yards, 26 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. In 2023, he threw for 2,883 yards, 24 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Rose added 269 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns on the ground.
For a program that has produced NFL-level quarterbacks, Rose automatically becomes one of the most intriguing names for fans.
Did Fresno State just sign another quarterback, or have they signed a future face of the program?
Rose recently flipped his commitment from a different Pac-12 program to stay home and join the Bulldog family, a move that immediately turned heads. Rated an 89-point, 3-star recruit by 247 Sports, Rose is listed among the top quarterbacks in the 2026 class nationally.
His decision to come to Fresno State signals the program’s pull, and for local fans, a chance to watch a hometown quarterback lead the offense.
Rose’s recruitment comes at the perfect time. He could be the key to helping the Bulldogs address their quarterback struggles, which have persisted ever since Matt Entz replaced EJ Warner with Carson Conklin and then referred back to Warner.
Rose could bring a fresh dynamic to the offense, offering a dual-threat capability that could stabilize a position that has seen inconsistency with the Bulldogs this year.
While Rose is the main star of the newest additions to the roster, the spotlight has spread not just over the Valley but over the country, drawing players from Nebraska, Missouri and Hawaii.
Solomon Baker – 6-foot-4, 3-star DL from Omaha, Nebraska
Solomon Baker, the standout athlete from Millard South High School, is among the latest recruits to commit to Fresno State. Baker brings with him a fresh perspective from outside of the Valley.
While primarily known as a running back, Baker also showcased his skills on defense during his high school career, making him a versatile recruit. His ability to contribute both on offense and defense adds a lot of potential value to Fresno State’s roster.
With over 10 Division-1 offers, Baker has earned accolades as one of the top playmakers in Nebraska high school football. He is recognized for his quickness, balance and vision as a running back, as well as his ability to make defenders miss in the open field.
Baker’s arrival at Fresno State could help to fill important needs for the team, especially if the Bulldogs’ offensive system is looking for versatile playmakers.
His speed and vision seen during his high school years as a running back could make him an immediate contributor in the backfield, while his defensive experience could allow him to contribute early as a cornerback or safety if needed.
Additionally, his special teams skills could give him a chance to make an immediate impact as a return man.
Bryce McDaniel – 3-star WR/TE, 6-foot-3 from Hughson High School
Bryce McDaniel is another one of the new 3-star recruits Entz has added to the team. McDaniel was a dominant force in high school, showcasing excellent skills as both a receiver and defensive back. His ability to make plays on both sides of the ball speaks to his football IQ and adaptability.
As a Fresno State recruit, McDaniel’s combination of size, speed and football IQ could end up as a valuable combination in aiding the team’s success.
His massive stature of 6-foot-3 and 200 pounds could give the Bulldogs an upper hand, while also considering his history in high school.
With such a dynamic and well-rounded group of recruits, the Bulldogs’ future looks promising. Entz and his staff have clearly made an effort to address key areas of need, blending local talent with high-impact recruits from across the country.
The influx of playmakers, from the powerful presence of Baker to the explosive potential of Rose and the versatility of McDaniel, ensures that the Bulldogs are not only poised to compete at a high level but also could elevate the program to new heights.
For Bulldog fans, National Signing Day marks the beginning of a new era. An era where fresh talent and bold aspirations will propel Fresno State forward in the Pac-12 and beyond. With this class, the Bulldogs are not just restocking; they’re reloading for sustained success in the years to come.
