Ethan Magill, director of ETC’s production of “Constellations,” and Samantha Ramos, understudy for “Marianne,” will step in as lead actors after two staff members tested positive for COVID-19 and other last-minute changes in the cast.

The cast has been rehearsing the show since February, with only one show a semester slated for a 3-day performance.

The Experimental Theatre Company is a student-run organization made of undergraduate students and has been active since the 1960s. The organization is guided by faculty members and peer mentors within the field of theatre, giving students hands-on training in acting and stage production.

“Constellations,” written by Nick Payne, is a 2-hander play that follows Roland and Marianne through their romantic relationship.

Jessica Cargin, social media manager for ETC, said on Monday, that staff members tested positive for COVID-19.

It was then confirmed that the lead actress for Marianne and an assistant director were infected before opening night.

“This production has faced a fair number of obstacles but has been able to persevere to be able to put on this famous play,” she said.

Tickets are $5 with the first of the three night performances beginning Friday, April 21 at 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. The showing for Saturday, April 22, begins at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, April 23, will begin at 2:00 p.m.
