Give a Gobbler for the holidays

A formal kickoff for the “Give a Gobbler” campaign at Fresno State will be held at the Rue and Gwen Gibson Farm Market on campus at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 18, with a goal to donate 200 turkeys to two local organizations. Donors can purchase a 20 to 25 pound frozen turkey for $25 at the student-operated store located on Chestnut Ave. at Barstow Ave.

“21st Century Library”: New food policy to keep building accessible

The Madden Library which re-opened in early 2009, is adopting new policies this semester regarding food and noise. But for new and returning students, no need to worry. There are no merciless librarians standing at the entrance who put their index finger to their lips and hold trash bins up for people to throw out their barely eaten lunches before entering.

Library provides new seating for guests

Out with the old, in with the new. The Henry Madden Library has some new additions this semester, in addition to the new food policy recently introduced. New furniture was delivered to the building over the summer to give students a place of comfort.

A different type of election

A new election is underway. There are no feuding political parties or town hall debates, no perfectly practiced candidates trying to garner support on the campaign trail. Voters will not cast their decisions by going to a voting booth or marking a ballot.
