Is downloading getting you down?

By Joanne Lui Oct 26, 2007

‘The era of cowboy diplomacy is over’

By Katrina Garcia Oct 24, 2007
Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton draws a large crowd Monday during a rally at Fresno High School. Clinton was making her first stop in Fresno as a presidential candidate. The would-be first female commander-in-chief maintains a healthy lead in the polls over her fellow Democratic rivals, both in California and nationally. Compared to states with earlier primaries, California has attracted relatively few presidential contenders this campaign season, and the Central Valley fewer still.
Buttons, bundled babies and coffee — lots of it — were scattered among a crowd of thousands who heard presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton speak in central Fresno Monday morning. “Are you ready for change?â€Â Clinton yelled at the beginning of her speech, against the backdrop of a giant American flag spread across the entrance of Fresno High School.

Hillary Clinton̢۪s visit on Monday was not the first presidential campaign to stop in Fresno. Other presidential hopefuls have come to Fresno, both for campaign contributions and voter support.

But Morgan Lucas, the vice president of the Southern California branch of the College Democrats, said that most college students aren’t registered and don’t vote.

By Joseph Hollak Oct 22, 2007
Holding a vial of influenza vaccine, university Health Center nurse Peggy Jackson is ready to administer flu immunization shots to students and faculty starting Oct. 23. Fresno State̢۪s flu season peaks in mid-December, just prior to semester finals.
Approximately 200,000 people are hospitalized every year in the United States because of influenza, commonly known as the flu. An additional 36,000, most of those over 65-years-old, die from the disease annually. Yet less than 200 Fresno State students — roughly 1 percent — will get vaccinated through a flu shot in a typical flu season.
