Pick up your butts

A large bag of cigarette butts sits atop the AMSA club's table. They were gathered up from all around campus, almost exclusively from non-smoking areas. Club members plan to present the collection of butts to President Welty, along with a 'smoke-free campus' petition.
Ciggy Buttz thinks that smoking on campus is out of control. So does Kelly Miller, a senior biology student and president of the American Medical Student Association (AMSA) campus chapter.

Go green

The conservation project lasts the whole month of November. De La O and other students participated in the campaign as part of their Public Relations Cases and Campaigns class.
Fresno State was caught green handed. Fresno State went green this month with an energy saving campaign that started in the fall of 2006. Professors Tamyra Pierce, Ph.D., Betsy Hays and Jan Edwards said the campaign has exceeded their expectations, lasting three semesters and possibly more.

Students write relief to children̢۪s hospital patients

In his epistle to the saints, Jude gave counsel for those of spiritual weakness. He encouraged those of spiritual strength for their “compassion, making a difference.â€Â A children’s research hospital in Memphis, Tenn., which bears the name of the disciple Jude, is requesting that everyone who is able to write their own epistles for those in need of physical relief.

Fresno State̢۪s award-winning wine

Many of the Fresno State Winery̢۪s award-winning wines were displayed at the winery̢۪s 10-year anniversary on Nov. 3. 'Tailgate Red is our most popular wine,' marketing manager Jessup Wiley said. 'It̢۪s a local favorite and people love to support the university.'
An array of orange, blue, yellow, pink and red ribbons are displayed behind a glass case. Articles with large font reading “Best of Classâ€Â and “Best of Regionâ€Â line the four walls; this is the Fresno State University’s winery.
