Bulldogs catcher Nichole Willis earned the WAC Softball Player of the Week award.

• Coming off of a seventh-place finisht at last week’s UNLV Spring Invitational, Jennifer Shipley was named the WAC Women’s Golfer of the Week award.


Shipley shot rounds of 71, 72 and 75 and helped the Bulldogs to a sixth place finish in the tournament.
The honor is the second in a row for a Fresno State women’s golfer.

 

• Fresno State softball player Nichole Willis also earned a WAC award.


A junior catcher, Willis the WAC Softball Player of the Week award after batting .313 at the Judi Garman Softball Classic last week.


This season, Willis has seven multiple hit games and four multiple RBI games. She is also batting .387 in her last 10 games, including four runs, a home run and a team-high 11 RBIs.


Fresno State (18-12) opens Western Athletic Conference play this week when it hosts Nevada in a three-game series
