Volleyball starts WAC with Idaho


The volleyball team will open up conference play against the Idaho Vandals Saturday at the North Gym.

The Vandals had success last season, finishing sixth in the Big West Conference and making the NCAA tournament with a 17-13 record.


The Vandals were predicted to finish third in the preseason WAC coaches’ poll. The Bulldogs were predicted to finish eighth.

Stanford Invitational up next for cross country


The cross country team will compete in the 32nd annual Stanford Invitational on Saturday. The meet is a 6K run featuring more than 3,000 runners. Junior Andrea Buckner finished first for Fresno State last year and 39th place overall.


Bulldog Classic starts today for women’s tennis


The four-time WAC championship women’s tennis team will compete in the Bulldog Classic at Spalding G. Wathen tennis courts, the first event of the year.


Among the 52 players from nine different colleges, Fresno State’s Katharina Winterhalter is ranked second behind Sacramento State’s Margarita Karnaukhova.
