The Fresno State women’s club water polo team took 10th place in the national tournament this weekend.


Fresno State was ranked No. 1 in the nation until a loss to Cal Poly in the championship of the Pacific Coast Division tournament.


Cal Poly defeated Dartmouth for the national title.


Fresno State opened nationals play with a 7-3 loss to Michigan State on Friday but came back to beat Yale 13-9 later in the day.


A 14-2 victory over Texas A&M on Saturday put the Bulldogs in the ninth-place game, which they lost 11-10 to Florida.


Fresno State’s Natalie Klomp earned second-team all-tournament honors and Megan Eldridge was second among tournament scoring leaders with 13 goals.
