President Donald Trump will deliver his State of the Union (SOTU) address directly to Congress at 6 p.m. tonight, coinciding with the 250th anniversary of the United States this year.
The SOTU is an annual address that the president gives to a joint session of Congress during the first few months of the year. The speech is meant to update Congress and the nation on the condition of the country’s economy, foreign affairs and domestic policy.
Now a year into his second term, President Trump will be hoping to gain favor with the politicians in Washington, D.C. and the rest of the country as they watch the televised message.
Specific things Trump is expected to address are his intentions with Iran, tariffs and what he has accomplished in his term so far.
