Bulldogs fall to NMSU

The up-and-down rollercoaster season for the Fresno State women’s basketball team continues and this time it was in the wrong direction.
This time, the Bulldogs fell victim to New Mexico State, who put together a strong second-half to pull off the upset 67-63. The Aggies outscored the Bulldogs by 10 points in the second-half with the help of a 43.5 shooting percentage in the game.
The struggles for the Bulldogs could be traced down to an individual level, as for the first time in recent memory, Fresno State senior Chantella Perera had a poor performance on the offensive end. Perera shot only 2 of 13 from the field, including 1-for-5 from beyond the arc.
New Mexico State was led by two standout players, Sherell Neal and Anikia Jawara, who torched the Bulldogs for 22 and 17 points, respectively. Neal also grabbed 17 rebounds for the Aggies, who will travel to Fresno Feb. 24 for what will be a revenge game for the Bulldogs.
Fresno State did get a great effort out of point guard Tierre Wilson, who went off for 17 points and 14 rebounds in the game.
