The Fresno State women’s tennis team defeated New Mexico 5-2 Sunday at the Wathen Tennis Center.

Freshmen Melanie Gloria and sophomore Jacqueline Haskett were the only winners for the Bulldogs in doubles while Sainz, Bruna Paes, Gloria and Katharina Winterhalter defeated their opponents in singles.

“We really came out strong in singles after losing the doubles point,” head coach Simon Thibodeau said in a press release regarding the match. “We were a bit flat in doubles but we showed what we can do in singles. We need to continue to improve and play like we did today for the rest of the season.”
