Fresno State’s Track and Field program brought home six first place finishes from the men this weekend at the Stanislaus Open in Turlock, Calif. Ryan Moore was the recipient of two of the first place finishes in the 400-meter (47.85) and the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 52.95. Group efforts also won out big this weekend as both the Bulldog’s 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams won their events.

The women also came home with 11 first place finishes. On the individual level, Christina Lopez won first with her 58.19 in the 400-meter; Zinzi Evans won the 800-meter and Jamie Farley won in the hammer throw.

The highlight of the weekend may have come from three women throwers making NCAA regional qualifying marks. La’Sha Hill qualified for the shot put, Katie Richardson for discus and Mallory Webb for the javelin. Hill’s attempt on the shot put was a career best of more than 48 feet. Richardson’s throw for discus was the field leader.

Taylor Franzmen also won the pole vault with his 14’ 6” jump.

Fresno State will travel to Chico this weekend for the Northern California Collegiate Series for both men and women leading up to the Cal Poly Invitational on Saturday, March 18.
