Above: Tierre Wilson has been a prolific scorer coming off the bench for the Bulldogs since returning for the second semester of play. Wilson, along with teammate Mirenda Swearingen, were academically ineligible in the first semester due to grades. Below: Fresno State sharp-shooter Chantella Perera has been huge for the Bulldogs against Boise State. Perera has also come on of late, nailing three-point field goals in the clutch in most of Fresno State’s games this season. With the Broncos in the Save Mart Center Saturday, Perea will once again be exxpected to perform at high levels.

GUARDS

The Bulldogs will look to bounce back from their first conference loss this past weekend with tomorrow’s game against Boise State. This is good news for Fresno State as Chantella Perera has excelled against the Broncos, shooting 46 percent from three-point range and averaging 17 points, about 6 more than her usual average. Perera also ranks second in the WAC in free throw percentage at 85.9 percent. Another guard who excels at the Save Mart Center is Tierre Wilson. On the road, she averages seven points but the total jumps when she plays at home to 13.8.

Fresno State is 9-2 and undefeated at home since senior Mirenda Swearengin’s return and looks to continue the streak against a 4-5 Boise State team. The Bulldogs will enjoy the luxury of back to back home games with Idaho coming to town on Monday. One of Boise State’s biggest offensive weapons is sharp-shooter Nadia Begay, who has connected on 56 3-pointers. But she’s not their only shooter. Two other Broncos have registered at least 25 threes.

Forwards

Fresno State will be hurting from the absence of Amy Parrish; the senior will sit out Saturday for fighting with Louisiana Tech’s Tamika Kursh last week but the team has capable players to fill the void. Junior Andrea Roberson will start in Parrish’s place. She averages 4.1 points and 3.4 rebounds. Roberson, along with Jasmine Plummer and Brittani Green, will provide problems for the Broncos with their big wing-span and long arms.

Plummer comes up big against Broncos a she has a combined 26 rebound in four games. Jackie Lee leads Boise State with seven boards a game and the Broncos average a team total of 43. Lee is also their second leading scorer at 13.5. The Bulldogs will face balanced scoring against the Broncos as three average double figures.
