•Acclaimed female student athletes and coaches will be honored Feb. 4 at the Fresno State women’s basketball game vs. Boise.


In recognition of the 20th annual National Girls and Women in Sports Day, Fresno State female athletes and coaches representing golf, tennis, soccer and softball will sign autographs before the game.


A halftime ceremony will recognize former Fresno State softball superstar Jamie Southern. Southern recently won the NCAA Top VIII award. The soccer team will also be recognized for its advancement to the 2005 NCAA Tournament. Doors will open at 11:30 a.m., before the 1 p.m. tipoff. Teams in attendance will also perform demonstrations during the game. Fans will be invited to participate.


Women who attend the event will be able to purchase a general admission ticket for celebration and game.
