Foreign languages professor David Ross will explore Volatire’s work “Candide” and its relevance in the 21st century as part of the College of Arts and Humanities’ Intellectual and Artistic Exploration Lecture series on Wednesday. The free lecture, “Voltaire’s Materpiece ‘Candide’ and Enlightenment,” will be held Wednesday in the Smittcamp Alumni House at 7:30 p.m.


Ross, who has been a foreign languages professor at Fresno State for more than 35 years, will focus mainly on “Candide,” a key piece of literature in the 18th century.


The lecture, organized by the College of Arts and Humanities Lecture Series, is a public service.
