The Fresno State Library will extend its hours during finals week, giving students more time and space to study before the semester ends.
The library will be open from noon to 2 a.m. on May 10, and from May 11-13, the library will be open from 7:45 to 2 a.m.
Hours will change on May 14, when the library will be open from 7:45 a.m. to 8 p.m. It will also be open on May 15 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The extended hours are sponsored by Associated Students Inc. (ASI) and came from a proposal by ASI President Camalah Saleh during an ASI meeting. ASI supported a similar effort last year, when the library stayed open overnight. This year, however, the schedule is limited to 2 a.m.
Students will not need to exit and re-enter the building overnight because the hours will be continuous. A Bulldog ID card will be required to enter the library after 8 p.m.
The lower level through the third floor will be available to students during the extended hours. Checkout services will not be available after 11 p.m.
Fresno State Police will be on-site during the extended hours. Traffic Operations staff will also help monitor the building throughout finals week.
