Approximately 12 hours after TikTok went dark in the United States, the platform restored its services in the country.
The restoration came following a statement from President-elect Donald Trump on Truth Social asking TikTok not to “stay dark” at 7 a.m. on Sunday.
Trump confirmed in the statement that he would like to keep TikTok in the United States as long as there are no national security threats and that America receives at least 50% ownership of the app.
Negotiations will continue after the inauguration on Monday, to which Trump said he will be issuing an executive order.
