After two consecutive shutout victories last weekend, senior softball pitcher Mackenzie Oakes was named Verizon WAC Pitcher of the Week on Monday. The award marks the fourth time Oakes has received this honor in her Fresno State career.
Entering her 27th season as head coach for the women’s softball team, Margie Wright continues to bring excellence to the program. The coach not only owns an NCAA title (1998), but also is the all-time winningest coach in Division I softball history with a record of 1,261-429-1.

Senior Andrea Ortega will enter her final season at Fresno State, where she has established herself as a premier outfielder after being named to the 2011 All-Western Athletic Conference team and is a preseason All-WAC selection this season.
