After two grueling tournaments, three canceled or postponed games and months of practice, the eight newcomers to the Fresno State softball team will finally see their first home game Thursday night, when the team takes on Utah Valley University (UVU) at Bulldog Diamond.

Most sports̢۪ seasons start out in familiar fashion, with sleepy, out-of-conference games that generally have little bearing on the season at hand. These eventually give way to meaningful conference games, then to crucial playoff games and finally come to a dramatic climax, or sometimes an anti-climax, in a finals series or a championship game.

Looking forward to spring sports

After a cold winter break that went by way too quickly, I think I am about ready for some spring-time sports. Ok, so maybe it wasn̢۪t that cold, but following such a disappointing fall season, I think Redwavers out there are all ready for a fresh start.
