New ‘brand’ of Bulldog football shines

By Jimmy Graben Nov 26, 2007
I have had just about enough of the negativity. Every day on the news it seems there is some new scandal involving the Fresno State athletic department. Whether it’s Stacy Johnson-Klein’s trial, the continued adventures of Jason Shirley or the criminal antics of Rekalin Sims – negativity continues to surround Fresno State.

Six contend for title

By Associated Press Nov 19, 2007
The national championship race is down to a half dozen contenders. With two weeks left in the regular season, LSU, Kansas, Missouri, West Virginia, Ohio State and Arizona State are the only teams left with aspirations to play in the BCS title game in New Orleans on Jan. 7.

By Jimmy Graben Nov 14, 2007
I don̢۪t know much about Hawaii̢۪s infrastructure, but I could have sworn I saw a train running through Aloha Stadium on Saturday. Oh nevermind, that was Fresno State linebacker Marcus Riley absolutely crushing Hawaii quarterback Colt Brennan. If you haven̢۪t seen the hit, it has received over 15,000 hits on YouTube so far.

Exorcising some of the demons

By Jimmy Graben Nov 5, 2007
Sometimes you just have those memories that can̢۪t be erased. It̢۪s like a bad movie running in your mind over and over again. No matter what you do, you can̢۪t stop thinking about it. This is what the Fresno State football team had to live with for a year.

Bronco Busted

Boise State running back D.J. Harper evades Fresno State
It’s the same old story, just a different year. Fresno State had high hopes of competing for a Western Athletic Conference (WAC) title, but was taken down a notch by their kryptonite — the Boise State Broncos. Though not completely out of the WAC title hunt, the Bulldogs now have no control over who wins the title.

Look on the bright side, it could be worse

By Kim Anderson Oct 29, 2007
Let's face it: a loss is a loss. In the standings, it doesn̢۪t matter how close you came or how hard you played. In pursuit of a Western Athletic Conference (WAC) title, however, everything matters in preparing for the next win.
