Two public concerts will highlight the 14th annual Central California Flute Festival Saturday, March 25.


Guest flutist Susan Milan is scheduled to perform in the Wahlberg Recital Hall at 1 p.m. She will be accompanied by Fresno State staff pianist Natasha Kislenko.


Milan will perform “3rd Sonata” by Philippe Gaubert and Theodor Boehm’s “Grand Polonaise, and other works.” Milan, who is a professor at the Royal College of Music in London will teach a master class and lead a warm-up session.


Milan was the first woman principal of London’s Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. She has been a professor and lecturer.


At 4:30 p.m., the Gala Concert will feature the Fresno State Flute Ensemble, Milan and guest flute choirs in the Concert Hall. Festival coordinator Teresa Beaman and tenor Randolph Lacy will also participate in the Gala concert.


Music store and flute maker exhibits will also be available from 10 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

The festival is for all age groups and all performers of varying abilities.


Fees for the festival vary. Individual concerts are $10.
