Fresno State men’s tennis defeated No. 38 Middle Tennessee 6-1 Wednesday evening in an upset head coach Jay Udwadia called a “big win.”

Sergiu Modoc, won in straight sets during the only two set match of the evening. The team holds an 8-3 record.

The Fresno State team dominated the event, winning four of five that went to three sets, but never lost sight of the threat of Middle Tennessee.

“Middle Tennessee is a dangerous team and we capitalized on some key points in the three set matches,” Udwadia said. “This will definitely give the guys momentum heading into San Diego.”
