There is no doubt this season has been filled with mixed emotions for those involved with the Fresno State basketball program.

That probably will not change until the NCAA decides what it will do regarding violations the basketball program committed under former coach Ray Lopes.

But ask anyone who has been to a Fresno State home game this season and they will tell you it is nothing less than thrilling, win or lose.

And, the Save Mart Center does sell beer. With that, there is no reason why students should not be in full force for the final home game against Boise State, which is also to be televised nationally on ESPN2.

Luckily for Bulldog fans, Fresno State has lost only two games all season long at home.

Because the team cannot make either the Western Athletic Conference tournament, or the NCAA tournament, fans have had to look for something else from the Bulldogs to cheer for.

But, if you are a college student, you do not need a reason to cheer. Yelling is encouraged, t-shirts are given out for free, and you will have a chance to be prominently showcased on the nation’s biggest sports network.

For more incentive, look no further than the word free. That’s right, tickets are free with a student identification card, so an empty wallet is no excuse either.

The guy with the $9,000 seat-licensed seats sitting next to me has an excuse, because his seats are not free. He is the guy that is never satisfied when things are going well, and is the first one to yell "who’s coaching defense," every time the opponent scores (note to guy in the seat: Heath Schroyer is in charge of defense, and Fresno State cannot hold every opponent scoreless).

In past games, Fresno State students have been rewarded for their support by the players, as after a win the team would run over and celebrate the victory with them.

Now, who among us can turn down that possibility?

So for one game, if you the student have not made a Fresno State basketball game, make this the one you go to. You will be back.
