Fresno State (17-5, 9-1) at San Jose State (10-10, 5-4)

Point Guard

With the exception of Louisiana Tech's Tasha Williams, Fresno State's Mirenda Swearengin is lightyears ahead of any other point guard in the WAC. Swearengin has been superb in games early on, meaning the subs are getting time and experience late in games, something that will help for the future. With Swearengin leading Fresno State's offense, the Bulldogs have only lost one game in 2006.

San Jose State's Brittany Imaku is not the most active offensive player, barely averaging six points per game. She does, however, take charge of an offense that has two of the WAC's top scorers. She will need to slow down Swearengin for the Spartans to have any chance.

Guards

After Monday's win over Idaho, the Bulldogs' Jasmine Plummer now has over 100 blocks in her career,k a remarkable feat considering she is only 6' tall. Chantella Perera has had the shooting switch turned "on" for a while now, as she has been knocking down shots for a high percentage lately. Off the bench, Tierre Wilson has been consistent, scoring around 10 points of offense a game with intense defense and energy.

The Spartans' Lamisha Augustine, a local player from Roosevelt HIgh School, is a great scorer. She will have a tough time being guarded by Jasmine Plummer, who has shut down the top scorer on every team in the WAC.

Forwards

Fresno State coach Adrian WIggins has found his duo down low with Amy Parrish and Brittani Green.

Both have an inside-outside game, and both are very effective rebounders. The Bulldogs' Faith Probst has been effective off the bench, and her career high point total as a Bulldog came as a freshman against the Spartans.

San Jose State's Amber Jackson, the WAC's leading rebounder, did not play for the Spartans in their loss to the Vandals after taking an elbow to the face. If Jackson does not return to the lineup by this weekend, the Spartans will have no chance against the Bulldogs, because there is no other low post option.
