The Bulldog men’s basketball team was defeated on Monday 72–61 by the Idaho State Vandals in Idaho.
The loss comes a week after Fresno State defeated the Vandals at home by 35 points.

Fresno State was led in its efforts by Ja’Vance Coleman, who finished the game with 23 points. Landing six 3-pointers, he achieved his 11th 20-point game of the season and the 23rd of his career.

For its part, Idaho opened the game with consecutive 3-pointers and the Vandals expanded their lead to 14–3 following a series of back-to-back shots.

The Bulldogs attempted a comeback with a 10-point spurt and eventually tied the score at 16 with a 3-pointer from Coleman.

The Vandals then surged ahead following three consecutive 3-pointers early in the second half.
The win snapped a 10- game losing streak for the Vandals.

“We just didn’t compete at the level we’re used to seeing,” Bulldogs head coach Steve Cleveland said in a press release after the game. “We were not the aggressor, we did not take control and we played out of sync as we were kept on our heels and got into foul trouble.”

The Bulldogs will play at home twice this week against San Jose State and Hawaii.
