Where's the beef?

It was a cold dark month in December of 2004 when our beloved Carl’s Jr. closed forever. If you’re like me you held false hopes for the following six months that a new fast food burger joint would open up in its place, but had those hopes diminish with the slow passage of time.
Sure there are other places to get a burger on campus like the Coffeehouse Pub and the University Restaurant, but it’s not the same. When I’m rushing around in between classes I want to pop in and out of a fast food joint with a big greasy burger dripping with the juices of all the burgers grilled before it. I want it wrapped in that delightful foil wrap or better yet in the colorful paper-wrap designed specifically for the restaurant it comes from.
I want fast-food fries, the kind fried to perfection in the same delectable oil all the great fries before it were fried in. Where am I supposed to get great fast-food fries to go with my great fast-food burger if there is no fast-food burger joint on campus?
The addition of Panda Express on campus was one of the best things to happen to me since I started going to school here four years ago and Juice It Up was a great idea too. Food Court Operations Manager Quinn Cody is doing a damn fine job.
But all the Panda Express, Subway, Taco Bell Express and Juice It Up in the world can’t replace a delicious In ‘n’ Out, Burger King, Carl’s Jr. or Jack in the Box burger and fries.
Hamburgers are a fast food tradition. Whether the patty is round or square and the bun is sesame-seeded or not, burgers are a college kid’s way of life.
It’s about time for this campus to get a respectable fast-food burger joint that will be delicious and fulfill fast-food cravings.
