Fresno State vs. Boise State

'Dogs put on defensive display

Fans better get up big for Boise

Fans better get up big for Boise

The question bugs me constantly. How does Boise State keep beating Fresno State, even though the Bulldogs are obviously the better team?

The answer for me is still “I don’t know.” I figure only the players and coaches have the real answer.

But what I do know is that Fresno State will be playing the Broncos on national television with a chance to send those lucky smurfs back to potato land.

But what’s done is done and all will be right with the world when Fresno State begins to start its own winning streak on Boise State.

There is no doubt that when gameday rolls around Thursday, a certain electricity will be in the air.

Heck, it already is.

Boise State fans are already claiming victory, and want another one very badly against what they consider to be the ultimate of rivalries against the Bulldogs.

Note to Fresno State players: Boise State, and every other opponent for that matter, does not like or respect you and all of Fresno, on account of every opposing fan I have talked to. You are the team they want to beat.

If any of these things are not enough to make the game personal, then consider the fact Boise State attempts to run up the score every time, just to embarrass anything having to do with Fresno State.

For some reason, there is a natural rivalry that develops between two teams. Boise State is as natural and fierce a rivalry as it gets, and it’s about time Fresno State had something to say about it.

For myself, I am already starting my water-sipping during the day, just to make sure that my vocal chords show up in full force so I will definitely have something to say about it.

Attention Student Cheering 101:

Third down is not the only down you are allowed to cheer on. As long as the team is on defense, yelling is a must. The defense will reward you with a great performance.

If you want to do the wave, do that on defense. It gets loud and disrupts your team’s offensive flow.
Nothing makes the adrenaline flow like the sound of a good “Fresno State” chant.

Wear red. Nothing looks better, or more intimidating, than a Dog House filled with red. Plus, Fresno State is the home of the Red Wave and some of the most fanatical fans known to mankind.

Be on time. The first play is as important as the last.
