Police: expect traffic trouble again for Thursday's game

Thursday’s football game between Fresno State’s Bulldogs and Boise State’s Broncos is expected to cause more than fireworks in Bulldog Stadium.

University Police events coordinator Tom Gaffery said the game is expected to attract a large audience and cause congestion on campus.

‘This is a [Fresno State] versus Boise game, we’re expecting it to be a big game,” Gaffery said.

Gaffery said at 12 p.m., Lot Q, located north on Barstow Street, would be closed and at 2 p.m. Barstow Street will be turned into a one-way street westbound. After the game the flow of traffic on Barstow Street will be one way eastbound.

He advised students who usually park in Lot Q to look for alternative parking such as the Save Mart Center parking lot.

Gaffery said the university would provide more than a dozen golf carts to provide shuttle services from parking lots around campus.

“The golf carts will transport students, faculty and staff,” Gaffery said.

He, however, said he could not estimate the number of fans expected to attend the game because he didn’t know the number of tickets sold. Bulldog Stadium has a sitting capacity of more than 40,000.
