Women’s Golf finishes 9th at New Mexico State Invitational


Fresno State (305-301-305--911) shot a third-round 305 on Tuesday at the 21-team New Mexico State Invitational to finish in ninth place. Missouri took the team title with an 891 total, while New Mexico State and New Mexico tied for second with 893 each.


Freshman Jennifer Shipley shot a consistent 74 in all three rounds to finish in 10th place. Sophomore Laura Luethke placed 23rd.


Softball coach gets prestigious honor


Fresno State softball head coach Margie Wright was inducted into the 2005 International Women's Sports Hall of Fame at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City.


An induction that is a tribute to outstanding athletic accomplishments and to women's sports, Wright was selected for this prestigious honor by the Hall of Fame selection committee and the Foundation's Awards Committee.
