Fresno State students can receive $100 from the Campus Crusade for Christ club, better known as CRU, just by asking a tough question of a guest speaker.

CRU member Eric Hiett said CRU has invited Biola University theology professor Jon Rittenhouse to campus to answer any questions relating to Christianity. The event is called “Stump the Christian.”

Basically, if you have a Christian question he cannot answer, you win $100. Second and third place prizes will also win additional cash prizes of $50 and $25 respectively.

Hiett said “Stump the Christian” was organized because many Fresno State students have several unanswered Christian questions. The speaker, Rittenhouse, is also a close friend of CRU; he regularly helps out at CRU’s Los Angeles chapters.

“Rittenhouse can answer just about any tough Christian questions you can throw at him: current events, worldviews, philosophy, theology, anything but advanced rocket science,” Hiett said.

CRU member Mario Martini said Rittenhouse will decide who wins and CRU will pay the cash prizes as the event ‘s sponsor. The winners will be decided around 9:30 p.m. which will leave Rittenhouse over two hours of challenging questions to answer.

“Rittenhouse is very knowledgeable, he can go on forever in great detail about any Christian subject, it will be very difficult for students to stump him,” Martini said.

According to CRU’s event fliers, available at their booth located in the student union plaza, “Stump the Christian” is a free event that will take place Thursday Oct. 13 at 7:30 p.m. in the University Student Union “pit.”

Feel free to ask any question relating to or challenging Christianity. If your question is left unanswered you might go home with an extra $100 in your pocket.
