The Jan and Bud Richter Center is hosting a blood drive in honor of former Fresno Police Department Chief David Huerta on Nov. 18-20 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. The blood drive will also focus on local farmers.
The blood drive, known as the “Chief David Huerta Memorial Blood Drive,” will take place at the Resnick Student Union, Room 107. Mobile units will also be located near the Speaker’s Platform and the Memorial Gardens.
The Jan and Bud Richter Center will be collaborating with the Central California Blood Center (CCBC) for the campus-wide event.
The theme for the blood drive, “locally sourced, locally saved,” celebrates local Central Valley farmers who provide for the local community, according to the Jan and Bud Richter Center website.
Students who wish to donate are required to be in good health, be ages 18 and up, weigh at least 110 pounds and provide a photo ID. Hydrating and eating a meal before donating is recommended.
Participants who donate blood will get a voucher for a free drink from Dutch Bros and a commemorative sticker designed for the specific event.
Students can walk in or set up an appointment to donate blood using this link. For questions, students can contact Kayla Ferreira through her email, [email protected], or contact the CCBC by calling 1.559.389.LIFE.
