The Bulldogs defeated the Beach, 82-62, behind some impressive shooting performances and suffocating defense.

Heidbreder led the Bulldogs with 24 points on 8-for-13 shooting. He was 2-for-5 from beyond the arc.

Collins and Jacques also contributed 12 points each, both on 4-for-7 shooting. Jacques also controlled 13 rebounds, marking his first double-double as a Bulldog.

While only contributing four points, Stickman made his mark on the defensive end, securing five rebounds and two steals.

The Bulldogs shot 50% from the field in the entire game, but were an efficient 62.5% in the second half. From the 3-point line, the ‘Dogs shot 57.1% in the second half, and 39.1% in the entire game.

The ‘Dogs will stay home at the Save Mart Center for their next game against the University of California, San Diego Tritons on Nov. 12. Tip off is set for 6 p.m.

Coming down the stretch, the Bulldogs look to have this one wrapped up.

Heidbreder is the first Bulldog to score over 20 points this season. Jacques secured his first double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds.

He caused a jump-ball, then punched an inbounds pass away. He also grabbed a big rebound and found Kocevar in the corner, who knocked down a big three.

Stickman has also found Heidbreder on cuts to the basket for easy layups that have given the Bulldogs their largest lead of the game at 57-36 with 11:09 left.

The Bulldogs continue to extend their lead despite issues at the free-throw line, shooting just 50% from the charity stripe.

Collins is a shocking 0-for-3 from the line.

Despite this, the Bulldogs lead the Beach 44-29 with 15:46 to go.

Coming out of the half, the Bulldogs continued to extend their lead. They started the half 3-for-4 from 3-point range.

Faas started the three-point barrage and added another after Gory hit his first of the game.

The scoring surge forced the Beach to call a timeout just two minutes into the half.

Bulldogs lead 37-24 with 18 minutes to go.

For the third consecutive game, the Bulldogs lead at halftime.

Heidbreder leads the team with eight points, followed by Collins with six points. Jacques, Stickman and Gasper Kocevar all have four points each.

Jacques also has 11 rebounds for the ‘Dogs. The Beach have 12 rebounds as a team.

The Beach also have just three players with points. Petar Mastorovic leads the offensive effort with nine, Gavin Sykes has seven points and Isaiah Lewis has four points.

The Bulldogs shot 39.3% from the field in the first half, improving on their early first-half numbers.

Jacques has already reeled in five rebounds himself, four of them being offensive rebounds.

A 1-for-7 (14.3%) start from the field and five turnovers have prevented the Bulldogs from converting on these second chances.

In their first two games, the Bulldogs opted for a starting lineup of Zaon Collins, Jake Heidbreder, Makhan Diouf, DeShawn Gory and Wilson Jaques.
