The Fresno State women’s soccer team fell on the road to the Air Force Academy Falcons 2-1 on Oct. 26.
The loss snapped the Bulldogs’ two-game win streak.
Fresno State started the scoring with a goal by forward Klara Chapeyrout, early in the first half.
The Falcons responded with a goal of their own with 15 minutes left in the half.
Coming out of halftime, the Falcons added another goal three minutes into the second half.
Despite the Falcons playing with just 10 players after a red card was issued with under 10 minutes left in the match, the Bulldogs couldn’t cash in on any of their shots to end the game, losing 2-1.
With just one game left in the regular season, the loss hurts the Bulldogs’ playoff chances, who sit in seventh place with a 3-4-2 conference record. The ‘Dogs need to finish sixth in the conference for a chance in the Mountain West Tournament.
The San Diego State Aztecs are currently in sixth place with a conference record of 3-2-4.
The Grand Canyon University Antelopes follow closely behind the Bulldogs with a record of 3-5-2.
The Aztecs lead the three teams with 13 points, whereas the Bulldogs and Antelopes have 11 points.
The Antelopes played their last game of the season with a 0-0 tie against Colorado College on Sunday.
The Aztecs also have a home matchup against the fourth-best team in the conference, the University of New Mexico Lobos, on Thursday.
Fresno State has one game left on the schedule with a Senior Night matchup against the San Jose State Spartans, who are winless in the conference, on Oct. 30.
Kickoff for Senior Night is set for 7 p.m. at Bulldog Soccer Stadium.
