The Joyal Administration South Lobby is currently undergoing renovations in order to comply with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. Construction on the project began in early September.
Sue Shaw, project manager for the Division of Administration and Finance, said that once completed, the South Lobby will have a newly remodeled cashier’s office with an ADA-compliant service counter.
She added that the division was aware of the requirement and offered an alternative means of service when needed until the project could be completed. Department funding from a previous fiscal year was set aside for the project.
While the lobby is remodeled, services are continuing to be provided elsewhere.
“Signage is posted to redirect students and employees to the alternative locations for service,” Shaw said. “No emails were sent as all services continue to be in the Joyal Building, and hours and days open have not changed. Students continue to receive the same service level as always.”
Cashiering services are now available in the Joyal North Lobby. Hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Checks and Bulldog ID cards can be picked up in Joyal 152.
According to Lisa Bell, communications specialist for University Communications, the remodel is anticipated to be completed by mid-January.
