The Super Bowl is finally here, which means many of us have to prep for game-day snacks! My favorite Super Bowl food (and my favorite food in general) is chicken wings. Any flavor, any texture. For those of you who are scrambling for last-minute ideas, my honey hot chicken wing recipe is quick, easy and tasty.
I eyeballed all of my measurements, but I will provide the general amount of seasoning I used in the recipe. I only made eight wings, which can be enough for one or two people, but if you wanna make more, just add more seasoning until all your wings are covered.
Prep time: 25 minutes
Servings: 8 wings (again, make as many as you want and add enough seasoning to coat all the wings evenly)
Set the air fryer to 400 F for 22 minutes
Ingredients
Fresh chicken wings (I used the Foster Farms family pack)
1 1/2 teaspoon olive oil
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon baking powder (this makes the wings crispy)
¾ cup Frank’s RedHot
¼ cup (or 4 tablespoons) butter
¼ cup honey
Instructions
Separate the chicken wings by cutting at the joint (if you bought pre-cut wings, skip this step)
Pat the wings dry with a paper towel, then place them in a bowl.
Add in the olive oil and seasonings, and mix with your hands until the wings are evenly coated in the seasoning.
Put wings in the air fryer and let them cook for 12 minutes.
While waiting for the wings to cook, add in the butter, Frank’s RedHot sauce, and honey in a saucepan and simmer on medium heat. Mix it all together.
Once the 12 minutes are up, flip the wings to the other side and cook for another 10 minutes.
When the wings are done cooking, place them in a bowl and wait five minutes for them to cool.
Once it has cooled a bit, add the honey hot sauce and mix with your hands until evenly coated.
When plating the wings, add some parsley (unfortunately I could not find any) and pair it with your favorite dipping sauce (I used bleu cheese dressing). Enjoy!
