The Fresno State men’s golf team placed 12th in the Alister MacKenzie Invitational.
The Bulldogs traveled up north to Marin County to compete in the 16 team field at the Meadow Club.
The event, hosted by the University of California, Berkeley, included three Mountain West rivals Hawai’i, Nevada and San Jose State.
The ‘Dogs shot a collective 18-under through the three round tournament.
Junior Mason Benbrook had a career-low tournament score of 9-under 204, shooting three consecutive rounds of 3-under par leading him to a tie for 23rd place overall.
Three Bulldogs tied for 58th overall with a score of 1-under, including Joseph Lloyd, Ryan Firpo and Jake Bettencourt.
The low round for the team came from Lloyd who shot a season-low 65 in the third round. After shooting 74 and 73 in the first two rounds, his third round 6-under par helped boost his and the team’s standings.
The Bulldogs will next travel to Carmel, California for the Cal Poly Invitational on Oct. 28-29.
