The Fresno State softball game started promptly at 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 29, at Margie Wright Diamond, with the sun shining and a cloudy blue sky. Toward the end of the last few innings, the temperature dropped and the wind picked up.
Attendees came as early as an hour and a half before the game began, and were ready to catch a glimpse of Fresno State’s warm-up practice. Some families also brought along their adorable, furry companions.
With a close shutout, Fresno State beat Bakersfield College 10-1. From the start of the game, starting pitcher Serayah Neiss dominated the mound. In the 1st inning, Bulldogs got 4 runs in, and with a triple in the bottom of the 4th, took an even greater lead with a clutch hit.
