Fresno State’s GradFest, a celebration honoring Spring 2025 graduates, is taking place on March 12-14 at the Smittcamp Alumni House.
At GradFest, seniors can pick up their Grad Boxes, meet Victor E. Bulldog, take free headshots, make bracelets, get Dutch Bros and attend workshops.
“[GradFest] is going to be a festival that not only presents good photo opportunities, but also shows you all the affinity graduations, the different stoles, how you can get them and which colleges offer different stoles,” said Ingeborg Kisbye, the current Associated Students, Inc. (ASI) senator of justice, equity, diversity and inclusion.
GradFest offers four workshops to help seniors prepare for life after graduation. On March 12, students were able to attend a session on building an affordable professional wardrobe at 11:30 a.m., followed by a workshop on saving money and growing wealth at 12:30 p.m.
On March 13, a budgeting workshop will take place at 11:30 a.m. and a networking tips session will be held at 12:30 p.m.
Seniors are encouraged to attend any or all the workshops and can RSVP with this link.
While some seniors are gearing up for GradFest, others are disappointed that it is conflicting with their school schedules.
Ethan Fierro, a senior at Fresno State, shares his thoughts on the conflicting hours of GradFest.
“I’m never against any of the things that they do that are free to students,” Fierro said. “But I do think that a lot of them should probably be a little later in hours, because I have noticed a lot of them do conflict with my schedule.”
Other Fresno State seniors, like Catalina Carcamo, also have scheduling conflicts.
“It’s interesting, but I just can’t go because of my schedule,” Carcamo said. “I think it’s a cool experience, it’s something we’re not able to do again ever in life, so that’s cool.”
On the other hand, the chance to meet Victor E. Bulldog is enough to get seniors to attend.
“[Victor E. Bulldog] is 100% the reason I’m going,” Kisbye said.
Seniors can attend GradFest at the Smittcamp Alumni House on March 12-13, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on March 14, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. More information on what times certain events are can be found here.
