The Fresno State women’s basketball team accomplished its season-long goal of leaving the Western Athletic Conference as both regular season and tournament champions in its 89-61 victory over rival Louisiana Tech, Saturday.
In the final game of the 2012 WAC Basketball Tournament, the Bulldogs defeated conference rival Louisiana Tech 89-61, making them WAC Champions and sending them to the NCAA tournament for the fifth consecutive year.
Fresno State Women's Basketball Team took down the Idaho Vandals, 80-55, in the semi-final round of the 2012 WAC Championship Tournament in Las Vegas. Rosie Moult had 15 points and Ki-Ki Moore had 19. 'Dogs play La. Tech, Saturday Mar. 10, in the championship.
The ‘Dogs outran the Vandals and controlled the tempo of the game, jumping out to a 20-0 lead in the first half before cruising to an 80-55 win in the WAC Tournament semifinal game.
The Fresno State women’s basketball team received quite the scare from New Mexico State Wednesday, but came away with the win, 66-58, to advance to the semifinals of the Western Athletic Conference Tournament.
The women’s basketball team added another banner to the rafters in its 65-62 win over rival Louisiana Tech, clinching the regular season Western Athletic Conference championship.
It is known as the biggest rivalry in WAC women’s college basketball and it could be one of the final matchups between the Fresno State Bulldogs and the Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters come Thursday.
The women’s basketball team lucked out Thursday night despite not playing at the tempo it wanted to, prevailing 76-68 over Idaho for its 10th-straight win. “Idaho gave a good effort tonight,” said head coach Adrian Wiggins. “They controlled the tempo for most of the game and that was a problem for us.”
