I was just departing from the concession stand line when Prince came on stage and opened with his 1980s hit single ‘1999.’ Frosty beer in one hand and greasy hot dog in the other, I did an excellent balancing act while running upstairs in my heels to get to my seat.

The word that Prince would be coming to Fresno reached my apartment at 7:30 a.m. on Friday morning. My roommate is a die hard Prince fan. Normally she's a bear when it comes to slumber, but was up and mapping out how she would pay for tickets, who would go with her and what she would wear.

Dogs’ start holiday with waves

After a three-game road trip that ended with a 74-70 win at San Diego, the Fresno State men's basketball team returns to the Save Mart Center for a five-game holiday homestand on Saturday night at 7 p.m. when the Pepperdine Waves visit the San Joaquin Valley.

Lot Q closed for football game

In preparation for traffic and parking needs for Friday’s football game at 7:15 p.m., Lot Q will be closed all day, and Barstow Avenue will become a one-way street going westbound between Chestnut and Cedar avenues beginning at 4 p.m.
