With a defense was a staple of the team for the entire season under head coach Adrian Wiggins, Fresno State women’s basketball members suffocate the UC-Santa Barbara ball-handler with front-court pressure. The Bulldogs won the Women’s National Invitation Tournament match-up with the Gauchos, part of the team’s record-setting 24-win season. The Bulldogs would lose to eventual WNIT champion Kansas State after falling just short of the Wildcats 64-61. Wiggins has since been hired as the permanent coach for the women’s squad.
Senior shortstop Christina Clark (No. 14) has racked up 61 career home runs and has 7 and counting under her belt for this season. She currently stands as the all time record holder for home runs, total bases, first for walks, tied for second for doubles and is third all-time for runs scored. She also has four grand slams, the most for any softball player at Fresno State.
