TRIO day to be held at Fresno State

The Central California Chapter of the Western Association of Educational Opportunity Personnel will sponsor the 6th Annual National TRIO Day on Monday, Feb. 9.

The event will introduce members of the community to 40 years of achievements of federally-funded TRIO programs such as ESLUpward Bound and Student Support Services.

Nancy Rodriguez, event chairperson, said TRIO was created in 1965 under the Higher Education Act to ensure all Americans, regardless of race, ethnicity or economic status received equal educational opportunity.

Events will be held in the Satellite Student Union from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., workshops begin at 3:30 p.m.
