Bike theft, alcohol violations occurring most

Assault with a deadly weapon, vehicle theft and grand theft are among more than 50 incidences of crime and misdemeanors recorded since the beginning of this semester in the Fresno State Police Department incident report log.

The incident of assault with a deadly weapon happened Sept. 26, in parking lot Q. According to the report, the suspect allegedly attempted to run the victim over with a vehicle and struck the victim’s car causing damage. No arrests were made.

A vehicle was stolen Aug. 30 from Parking lot D. Five people were also arrested at Bulldog Stadium and charged with grand theft after they took golf carts from the stadium, damaging some of them.

The cases recorded from Aug. 24, this year indicate that bicycle theft tops the list with 15 reported incidences, minors in possession of alcohol is second with seven incidences reported. Public intoxication ranks third with six incidences so far.

There are five recorded instances of vandalism, followed by petty theft, which has four recorded cases. There are three incidences of burglary and stolen wallets, with two reported cases of laptop computer theft.

Vehicle theft, stolen property, driving under influence (DUI), arson, hit and run, grand theft, assault with a deadly weapon and possession of marijuana have all been recorded once.

There is one case of curfew violation involving three juveniles. The juveniles were released to their parents.

The incident report log also indicates that the police recovered a bicycle and a wallet.
