The 112th Clovis Rodeo comes to town April 22-26. The longstanding tradition in Clovis is celebrated the whole week.
Thousands of locals come to watch the top athletes and livestock compete, enjoy delicious food and country music performances.
“Friends that I met freshman year here at Fresno State, we’ve gone every year,” said Charlee Swope, an equine science major.
The festivities kicked off on Monday and Tuesday with a blood drive by Central California Blood Center from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Clovis Rodeo Hall.
On Wednesday, the rodeo officially started with a bull riding event followed by a concert from Corey Kent.
Thursday begins the PRCA rodeo at 6 p.m. Performances include bareback, steer wrestling, women’s breakaway roping, saddle bronc, mutton bustin’, team roping, tie-down roping, barrel racing and bull riding. Josh Ross will perform at the conclusion of the bull riding.
Friday, the PRCA rodeo starts at 6 p.m., and Shane Profit will perform after the rodeo.
Saturday at 9:30 a.m., the Clovis Rodeo Parade will be in Old Town Clovis and will move down Clovis and Pollasky avenues. The PRCA rodeo will begin at 2 p.m. for Salute to Veterans Day.
On Sunday, the final rodeo performance takes place at 2 p.m., celebrating Tough Enough to Wear Pink and Salute to First Responders Day.
