The No. 2 seed Fresno State water polo team takes on the No. 3 San Diego State Aztecs in the Golden Coast Conference Tournament semifinal. The winner of the semifinal will go on to play the winner of the No. 1 seed Loyola Marymount Lions and No. 5 seed Pacific Tigers semifinal.
The Bulldogs have won the last nine matchups against the Aztecs, dating back to April 24, 2021.
The Bulldogs look to advance to the GCC title game for the sixth consecutive season.
After trading goals to make it 2-2, the Bulldogs scored four unanswered goals to open a 6-2 lead late in the first period.
Through the second and third periods, the Aztecs stormed back to tie the Bulldogs, erasing a five-goal lead at one point.
The Bulldogs weathered a fierce attack from the Aztecs to clinch a GCC Title appearance for the sixth straight season.
