The Fresno State baseball and softball teams begin their final Mountain West seasons at Bob Bennett Stadium and Margie Wright Diamond.
The Diamond ‘Dogs come home after two road series in Palo Alto and Tucson, Arizona, where they went 2-4 in six games. Against the Stanford Cardinal, the Diamond ‘Dogs won the series for the first time since 1999. Sky Collins was named Mountain West Player of the Week and Parker Heintz was named Mountain West Freshman of the Week.
A midweek matchup saw the ‘Dogs take down the Sacramento State Hornets.
The University of Arizona Wildcats cut down any momentum the Diamond ‘Dogs had, sweeping them in a weekend series. The Diamond ‘Dogs extended their losing streak with a 13-3 loss to the Cal Poly Mustangs.
The Diamond ‘Dogs begin Mountain West play against the University of Nevada, Reno Wolf Pack, a team they last battled in the 2025 Mountain West Tournament. A 14-inning thriller saw the ‘Dogs move on to the championship game.
The Wolf Pack come into Fresno after a weekend sweep of the Pacific Tigers and a midweek loss to the Stanford Cardinal.
The softball team returns home after a month away from its home diamond. The softball team found more success than the Diamond ‘Dogs in the non-conference.
Pitcher Lauryn Carranco pitched her first career no-hitter against the University of California, San Diego Tritons.
The Bulldogs will play a future Pac-12 opponent, the Utah State Aggies.
First pitch for both games is scheduled around 6 p.m.
